A West Coast Native, I started dictating stories to my auntie and drawing the accompanying illustrations at 6-years-old; writing mini-novels at 13; creating grrrl zines at 20; completing my doctoral dissertation on Filipino mail-order brides at 28 and tackling the world of indie publishing soon after. My training in clinical psychology has been grueling, but out of it comes a love for community and strengthening its bonds through empathy, compassion, connection and creativity. Contrary to the near-universal consensus that scientific thought is dry and dull, Purple Root Collective is a soulistic creation of an exception to the rule.
